Japanese culture is more diverse than you might imagine. Through exhibits set up at seven of the country’s airports and other facilities, this project commissions contemporary artists and creators to interpret Japan’s varied cultures—from the mysterious world of the Ainu in the north to the vibrant history of the Ryukyu Kingdom in the southern islands of Okinawa--in fresh and innovative ways.
